Mayuri is a geek/otaku/etc and her canon references anime, manga and video games a lot so it's possible she might recognize your character! This only applies to canons of Japanese origin and very popular canons like Disney from 2010 and earlier. Let me know how much she can recognize or if at all. I know fourth walling ain't everybody's thing after all. And if you want you can come up with an alternate styled name for her to call your canon!

Another from Final Fantasy; in Lightning's case this is from FF13, which had a Japanese release in 2009. I'm fine with Mayuri recognizing her--the pink hair isn't exactly subtle--though only if both my canonmates agree to having theirs recognized as well. Everybody or nobody and all that. :3

I have Mitsukuni Haninozuka ("Honey-senpai") from Ouran and Rin from Naruto! Honey's probably more recognizable unless Mayuri was really into Naruto (and IDK how much of Rin had been revealed ~2010, actually?) since Ouran started back in...2002, and he was a main character from the get-go!

I'm totally okay with her recognizing either of them. They might not believe her if she feels the need to bring up them being fictional, though, because haha...

Hi, welcome (back!) to Route! I play Tenten from the absurdly popular ninja show Naruto, for which the manga's been coming out for the past ten-ish years -- though Tenten isn't really a main character. In fact she's probably one of the canon characters who's more developed through filler than in canon, though I promise she is there....

In any case, I'm good with fourth-walling (assuming she can actually be recognized....) as long as recent manga/anime doesn't get spoiled for her. Lying to her and telling her she's the main character is OK though ffff

Well the F/Z anime definitely didn't come out before 2010, but iirc the light novels did? Either way, if the rest of the Fate/ cast is okay with fourth walling either directly from the novels or general universe stuff then I'm all for it, but if the other members of the cast aren't cool with it I'd rather go with what's consistent.

Geddoe is one of the three protagonists of Suikoden III, which is a reasonably well-known series of games in Japan; Geddoe's game in particular came out in 2002, and was also later adapted into a 11-volume manga. I am perfectly fine with him being recognized, and the idea of multiple/parallel worlds isn't completely foreign to him, though he might "...." at you if you try to tell him he's from a videogame. XD

Sion is from a series of Japanese light novels called The Legend of the Legendary Heroes that started in 2002 and runs in Dragon Magazine (home of several notable series such as Slayers and Scrapped Princess) and was adapted into an anime that aired in the second half of 2010. There's also a couple various manga adaptations. I am perfectly fine with Sion being recognized, as is Ryner (tearsofademon) who is also from the same canon!

Neji is from Naruto, and one of the slightly more popular side-characters? I'm fine with her fourth-walling him, though he'll probably never believe the actual truth of the matter. He's from post-2010 canon of Naruto, so she can't spoil him for anything.

Final Fantasy XIII trilogy, yep yep. As a general rule I never allow anyone to 4th wall my characters unless it's for a plot-related reason, so it's a no for me, please.

Hope it doesn't dampen my canonmates' thoughts or plans for it.

She's welcome to recognize either of them, but maybe not tell them they're from videogames? Also Larry's from the localized version of AA so that'll be interesting, haha.

Okay, so I've got a few characters that fall under this!

Mondo Oowada | Dangan Ronpa | diamondo
It depends on when in 2010 Mayuri is taken from, but if it's the tail end then she might be familiar with Dangan Ronpa. I have no problems with fourth walling whatsoever, so if she is familiar with it she can recognize Mondo (and tell him he's from a video game, not that he'd believe her...)! This would probably be best if all the castmates agree to it, however, since I don't want to force this on any of them.

Frank Archer | Fullmetal Alchemist (2003 anime) | sadisticwarfare
If Mayuri is familiar with the first Fullmetal Alchemist anime, she'll probably recognize Archer like this. Like with Mondo, I'm fine with fourth walling and all as long as it's okay with other canonmates! I don't mind having her talk about the crazy-ass automail either!

Ryuunosuke Uryuu | Fate/Zero | greatestcool
Like with Kayneth, Ryuunosuke is from F/Z (specifically the anime, but he's in the light novels as well and would still be recognizable). He's a minor character in the scheme of things, but it's possible Mayuri would recognize him! I'm perfectly fine with fourth walling here too!

Isaac McDougal | Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (2009 anime) | glaciates
Again, if castmates are okay with it, fourth walling is fine! Isaac is a ridiculously minor character who only appears in the first episode though, so I wouldn't blame Mayuri for not recognizing him.

For the rest though noted! She will probably general general things about the series and stuff for Issac but that's it.

Digimon! Digital Monsters!!

DORUmon himself is from a one-off movie based on general series lore; the franchise started with Tamagotchi-like keychain pet games and grew to span cards, manga, and the most recognizable part, the various seasons of the anime.

DORUmon is humanized right now, but he occasionally drops terms from his universe and is in possession of that stone on his head in pendant form, which...is sort of an object of importance in the series, and might be recognizable as DORUmon was an arc mascot, but only if she were majorly into the pet lore.

That's the tl;dr, I'm fine with anything, you can pick out whatever you think is appropriate if it comes up!

Alphonse Elric, my other character, on the other hand, is one of the stars of Fullmetal Alchemist and his manga canon ended before 2010. You are MORE than welcome to know him!! Or confuse him with his 2003 anime counterpart who had a rather different life.

Aha, I just remembered! Yet another ninja here -- I don't mind any kind of 4th walling. Shino is one of the more secondary characters and is probably around Tenten-tier when it comes to screentime. (That is to say, not much at all. A lot of his development is from filler too.)

In his canon, there's a kind of recurring joke that Shino is always forgotten or not recognised by the main character because of his clothing so... take that how you will. |D
